THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS
James Gosse
I was born in 1999 in Saint John, New Brunswick, to a hardworking family. In search of a better life and new opportunities, my parents moved us to Edmonton, Alberta, where they found the stability and future we were looking for. Growing up in Abbotsfield and McDougall, my family faced our fair share of challenges—home invasions, vandalized backyards, and strangers in crisis at our doorstep.
When I set out on my own, I lived in Glenwood and downtown, witnessing firsthand the steady decline of our city—a decline that has touched every neighborhood in Edmonton. My professional journey took me through retail, food service, and eventually government—a job I initially saw as just a way to make ends meet. But what I saw changed everything. I heard from thousands of Canadians, each with their own struggles, frustrations, and hopes. I saw a city in decline, a government losing touch, and a people who deserved better. Edmontonians deserve leadership rooted in honesty, integrity, and accountability. They deserve a leader with vision, follow-through, and the common sense to get the job done. That’s why I’m stepping up—because I refuse to sit back and watch Edmonton become a city of lost potential.
